Picking up the bales

Now that the wheat hay has finished drying out from the rain we got, Jaylon finished baling it all and started to pick up all the bales out of the field.

First he had to stack them in stacks of three, so they'd be eaiser to load unto the wagons.

They hooked the OLD john deere tractor to the wagons to pull the bales.  It didn't have any trouble pulling them though, thats a John Deere for ya  ;o)

Over on the other farm, Jaylon's boss has started planting the corn.  It dosent take him to long to plant a field with that giant planter :o)

I thought I'd add this picture on here, even though its not the greatest quality because I had to take it through a fence.  We were driving home from Sierra Vista last week and Jaylon stopped in Bisbee and showed me this old quarry mine that is a mile deep.

Baling the Wheat

This past week another new toy arrived for Jaylon; the new Massey Ferguson baler.  It was nice and shiny red when it arrived, but now its brown covered in dust :)

Jaylon has been keeping busy baling all that Wheat that he had swathed

I got to ride with him in the tractor for awhile, and that extra seat in the big tractor is Alot comfier than the one in the swather :o)

They had to hook up an extra controller and screen in the tractor, to operate the baler. All the buttons and screens look confusing to me :o)

Jaylon was working on starting to Swathe the Tritacali grass while waiting for the baler arrive.  The Triticali grass is SO thick and tall he was having to drive the Swather at like 2 1/2 to 3 mph!  It is going to make a ton of bales!
But now they have had to stop baling and swathing because it rained yesterday so now they have to wait for all the Wheat and Triticali grass to dry out.

Swathing the Wheat

The wheat field beside our house has been growing like crazy the past month.  Last week Jaylon noticed it was starting to head, which means its ready to be swathed.  The new swather arrived just in time last week.  Jaylon was pretty excited when it finally arrived, he's been looking forward to swathing wheat for awhile :)  Once he finishes the wheat field, he has to swathe quite a few fields of Oats and Triticali grass.  Then once the new baler arrives, they are going to bale it all.

I got to ride with him in the Swather for a few hours, it was alot of fun :)

We saw this coyote three different times while we were in the swather.  And then when it started to get dark we saw a herd of Mule deere.

I had to add this picture of Bandit.  He was having so much fun playing in the wheat. He was trying to catch a lizard

39    Right here, you plant a grain of wheat in the ground, it'll always be a grain of wheat. Cockleburs may be all around it and everything else, but it'll be a grain of wheat as long as it stands. Is that right? And if a man's really born of the Spirit of God, he isn't in and out, and back and forth, and here out yonder in the world and out here. No, sir. No, no. You're not a cocklebur one day and a grain of wheat the next day. God don't have that in the field. Yes, sir, if you're born of the Spirit of God, you're a Christian from that time until the--till you go away, and then you're--you're immortal with God. That's right, if you're in the church.
