The other day Me and Kyle rode around the farm in the truck with Jaylon while he checked all the field water. He's started all the water on all the fields except for one field that he still has to finish spreading and tilling in. All of the fields have Oats planted in them for a winter cover crop. I can't wait until the Oats start growing!
When the pivots are on you have to check them twice a day to make sure they're all running ok. Jaylon also has to drive to the end of each one and unplug the big hose on the end of the pivot, when it gets clogged with sand or little rocks. The big hose on the end of the pivot is called a sand trap.
It's easier to pull up beside the hose and unplug it out the window than to get out of the the truck ;) also that way you don't get wet....
He had to restart some of the wells because the power went off and on, so all the pivots shut off. Before he can turn on this well for the field he has to empty the sandy water out the sand trap, thats the big red metal tube. This sand trap is a little different than the other one :)

Kyle liked watching this big flock of birds, they kept flying around than landing in the field..

The downside to having a chain link fence around here is when its windy, tumbleweeds get stuck in them...
There's only one way to get rid of tumbleweeds.......
