Me and Jaylon just got back from a week vacation in Maui, Hawaii! We had such an amazing time! The island of Maui is truly paradise!! Be prepared to see Tons of pictures of Maui, because we took alot! :) I won't post them all, but its so hard to pick and choose which ones!
Seeing the Island of Maui for the first time!
The Molokai crater is just off the coast of Maui. It is a popular scuba diving and snorkeling spot.
After arriving in Kahului, Maui we picked up our rental for the week, the new Jeep Cherokee!
On the outskirts of the town of Kahului is fields of sugar cane...
All of the stores and restaurants look so neat in Maui! I snapped a quick shot of this Krispy Kreme Doughnut shop. All the stores and restaurants have cool designs on the outside of the buildings. You can see the front of this building has a design that looks like some type of fern.
We enjoyed every minute of the drive to our hotel from the airport...The ocean was right along the road! We had the windows down and we were soaking up the fresh Maui air. It was even misting rain some of the time!
Maui greeted us with a rainbow :) I now understand why the Hawaii license plate has a rainbow on it, we saw almost ten rainbows in the week we were there!
Banyan trees are everywhere on Maui!
Arrived at our resort in Ka'anapali, Maui...Here's a few photos from around the resort.
This resort had awesome customer service, they treated us like royalty. They even gave us valet parking!
The view from our room's balcony! We felt very blessed to wake up to this view everyday!
Day 2 ~ We headed out to Makena Beach..
After we were done swimming we hiked up on the rocks..
There was lots of this pink coral
We saw Tons of these weird looking creatures all over the rocks! We also saw lots of crabs but wasn't able to get pictures of any..
Then we headed over to Makena Cove. We never would have been able to find this if I hadn't seen it on Pintrest, because there is no signs for it you just have to look for the walkway between the rock wall. Gotta love Pintrest ;)
Makena Cove is breathtaking...
After Makena Cove we went for a little drive up the road to see what was at the end of it..
..And we came upon this crazy looking area! Come to find out this is where the last lava flow happened, back in 1790.
This area is nothing but pure crumbled lava rock, It may look like dirt but there is not a speck of dirt in it. Can you tell where the lava flowed out of the side of the hill?
After that long day of swimming we had to stop and get some shaved ice. Ululani's is a Very famous spot to get shaved ice. And after tasting it we see why! It is literally the best shaved ice you will Ever have!! The coconut and the pineapple shaved ice is the best, and you have to have some freshly made Maui vanilla ice cream underneath it :)
Right next to Uluani's was a farmers market. Apparently Maui is famous for its banana bread, its at every roadside stand and farmers market.
These Banana's were so tiny! They're called Apple Banana's
On our way back to our resort we stopped by Sugar Beach
That night we went out for supper at 'Aloha Mixed Plate'
While we waited for our table we watched the sunset...It was such a neat place to eat at! It was literally right along the water, and there was a Luau
Stay tuned for the next blog post for more pictures of Maui, Hawaii!
