Weather Balloon + digging in the dirt

  Hello Everyone!!
  About two weeks ago Jaylon brought this giant mangled balloon looking thing, home from work with him.  It had landed in one of our fields.  I had no idea what it was lol, Jaylon said it was a NOAA weather balloon that had come clear from Los Angeles, CA.  I decided to google about weather balloons to learn more about it.  And what I found out was quite interesting....  I found out that the NOAA National Weather service launches weather balloons from 102 sites in the U.S everyday to help with the weather forecasting.

     This is the battery powered instrument that is suspended below the weather balloon while its floating through the air.  After they release the balloon it rises 20 miles in the sky, while its in flight the instrument obtains data for wind direction, speed, changes in the atomosphere, and helps them identify severe weather.  The data is sent to a ground receiver that sends all the information to the NOAA national weather service.  Once the balloon reaches 100,000 feet it eventually pops and falls to the ground.  And one of them so happened to fall into our field   :)

  I though it was all pretty interesting, and I learned something I never knew before :)

       Two weeks ago Jaylon had to dig up some of our back yard with the backhoe, to work on the sewer.

Me and Bandit were sitting outside watching, enjoying the warm sunshine :)

But then the sunshine got a little to warm for Bandit haha 

                   
         The other day it got Really windy and this Giant tumbleweed rolled to a stop beside the house.  It was almost as high as my shoulder.  (sorry the picture got a little fuzzy)

We finally got some rain here on Saturday, thank the Lord!  We havent had rain in almost 3 months, now the air smells fresher and its not so dusty :)

Update

  Hello Everyone!
  This post is just a little update on whats been going on the past month.
 Probably the most exciting event from this past month was that we found out we are having a boy :) We are so excited!!  We finished painting the nursery a few days ago, now we are waiting for the crib to come in the mail :)       Its all so exciting, and hard to believe that he will be here in just 17 weeks!!
 I will post some pictures of the nursery once I get it decorated.
    My Grandma and Grandpa from PA stopped by our house to visit a few weeks ago.  Unfortunately I forgot to take any pictures.  It was very special to have them here, we had a great time :)

              Jaylon planted wheat as a cover crop in the field behind our house, it has started growing like crazy the past couple weeks.  Its so wonderful to see some green, everything is so brown and dry right now.  I love to walk past when the pivots running, it smells like rain :)

  A couple of days ago it was windy and cold, and the mountains got snow!  Unfortunately the snow didn't come down to the valley.  But at least I could see it in the distance :)

         The pecan trees are still pretty full of pecans.  Jaylon climbed up and shook some branches and we picked up a whole bunch.  The dog was excited when the pecans started falling from the trees, he was eating them as fast as he could lol

               The pecans sure do taste good, especially in a freshly baked pecan pie  :o)

                      Last month I went with Jaylon when he was starting pivots and changing pivot nozzles.  Of course he had to try and spray me with some water lol ;) he got me pretty good.

                     This happened back in December, but I thought I'd add these pictures on here :) My mom had just called and told me that there was a bald eagle in the tree behind her house.  And then about an hour later I look out the window and see one sitting on one of the pivots.  So I grabbed my camera and tried to get as close as I could to get a good picture, but he flew off before I could get very close.  I did get a few though, I had zoom them way in so they got a little fuzzy.

Well, as you can tell this wasn't a very busy month and I didn't take too many pictures.  There should be some exciting things to blog about in the month to come, though :)

"Shalom"

 Hello Everyone!
 Yesterday in church, we listened to the message "Shalom" that Bro. Branham preached 50 years ago yesterday.  It was special, because he preached it in Sierra Vista, where we go to church.  We didn't get to listen to it in the same house he preached it in, because that house burned down 13 years ago.  Jaylon got to go there twice for church when he was a little boy, before it burnt down.
   After we enjoyed a potluck lunch by the pond, about 30 of us went hiking 2 1/2 miles back an old railroad bed to visit the spot where the building stood that Bro. Branham preached "Shalom" in 50 years ago.

Catching up on the past month

  Hello Everyone!!
  Sorry I haven't posted for a whole month!!
  This post will be of all the random pictures I've taken in the past month to kinda catch you up on whats been happening.
  Probably the biggest news is something that ya'll have already heard, I'm pregnant!!!  :)  We will be a family of three in June :)  We are Sooo excited!!!

A few weeks ago I rode with Jaylon while he was disking a field in the dark

           The past month they've been harvesting the corn, I got to ride with Jaylon in the tractor a few times.  The one time the neighbors in the field beside us were harvesting too and they had quite the lineup of semis lol.      

           They just finished corn harvest last week, so Jaylons been busy spreading chicken manure, seed, and fertilizer on the fields.

         
           Can you see the dust whirlwind??  Sorry the picture isn't so great it was taken from inside the tractor.  We see at least a few of these a day.

                              Last week we got a little rain shower!  Afterwards there was this beautiful rainbow.

             
                          Here is a pretty sunset we had the other week :)  Seems like we get alot of these out here :)

                Last week Jaylon had a big project of putting our computer together.  Instead of buying a computer already put together he just bought all the parts and pieced it together himself for half the price.  It looked confusing to me but he had it all together in two hours.  I was pretty proud of him ;)     sorry the pic is kinda dark

                                These are the two little projects I did around the house this past month.  The first one is a little coffee and tea station I set up, I like the look of the mugs hanging on the wall :)

                             My second project was sewing this curtain for my laundry room table, now I can hide the baskets of dirty clothes under there :)

The other day I was walking under the pecan trees and noticed there was pecans all over the ground, I've been waiting for the pecan trees to start dropping their pecans :) Bandit kept trying to eat the pecans he'd find lol

                                          I got a big bowlful, and there will probably be more in the weeks to come :)

                            A perfect pecan :)  It was harder to shell pecans than I thought lol it takes awhile.

                                 This is what happens to your flip flops after tromping through the grass under the pecan trees lol they got full of burrs, this happens alot lol ;)

                         I was so excited to see my three little maple trees are turning colors!  There's not very many trees out here and I miss seeing the colorful fall leaves
