Driving through a Corn Maze!

  Hello Everyone!!
Last night Jaylon had to go turn on the wells at our biggest pivot, which is one mile wide.  So me and Kyle decided to ride along with him, to keep him company :) Since this field is so big it requires two wells.  The wells are at two different spots in the middle of the field, so they had to knock down the corn for a road that runs all the way through the middle of the field, so they could get to the wells.
This is the only field that has a road running through it, all the other fields have their wells on the outside of the field.
(I apologize for the bad quality of these pictures, they were taken in the dark so they didn't get too clear)

Driving through the middle of the field...It was like driving through a corn maze :)

The two wells for this field are the only wells on the farm that are run by gas.  The reason for this is because there is a natural gas line running underground through the middle of the field.  So instead of running electric all the way to the center of the field for the wells, they just run the wells by gas.

Turning on the first well....
The two wells each have a Semi engine that runs them!  So they are Really loud when you start them up.

After we turned on the wells, and drove out of the corn maze ;) we had to drive around the edge of the field until we found the end of the pivot, so we could make sure the pivot was moving.
Me and Kyle had fun riding along with Jaylon while he started the pivot.  It was especially fun to drive through the mile long corn maze :o)

I got my red beets canned the other day.  I only got nine jars, so I think next year I'll be planting more red beets than I did this year.   :)
